New for the 2025 Season:
Doubles tournaments!
This May, the first ever Kroger Doubles tournament will be held at Western Bowl!
All Classic competitors (no youth) will put their names in a hat and 2-person teams will be drawn by the youth roster, to keep it fair! The teams will then face off with Kroger-Scotch Rules, those rules are- the players alternate per throw, per frame, until the end of the game. So, if player 1 starts and gets 7, player 2 must attempt to pick up the spare. Then player 2 starts the second frame, and so on. Teams will be seeded as per the usual Kroger format.
Winners will be the last team standing!
The winning team can then place 2 trinkets of their choosing (or 1 if they so choose) on the Trophy, next to each other on the designated "doubles tier." The wins will also be labeled. There will be a new Hall of Legends for doubles wins (3 or more doubles wins regardless of team!) We are looking at holding at least 2 XX tournaments per season (depending on popularity). Good luck Teams!
NOTE: If you plan on entering doubles competition, please try to have some cash on hand to help make paying for the games easier!
Q: If I am the current singles champion, will I forfeit the trophy by competing in a double's tournament?
A: No! You will remain the current singles champion until the next solo event, where you will defend per normal Kroger rules.
Q: How will teams be picked?
A: All names of classic Kroger competitors that are at the XX tournament that day will be tossed in a hat. The current youth champion will draw the first name, then the rest of the youth roster from youngest to oldest will draw. The first two names are a team. The next two are a team, and so on until all teams are assembled.
